Born on July 1, 1965 in Plzen.

    He completed his studies at the Plzen Conservatory under

    prof. Jitka Chaloupková and at  the Prague Conservatory

    under prof. Jan Hora. He studied organ improvisation under

    prof. Jaroslav Vodrážka.

    In the period of 1980 ÷ 1985 he was the organist in
    the cathedral of St. Bartolomeus in Plzen, , in 1985-1990
    in St. Margaret’s Basilica at the Benedictines Abbey
    in Prague – Břevnov.

    Since 1990 he has been the Director of sacred music
    of the Premonstratensian Royal Canonry, in the Basilica
    of Assumption of the Virgin Mary in Prague Strahov.
    He founded a choir and orchestra Collegium Strahoviense
    there and he acts as his Artistic Manager and Conductor.

    He is known as an outstanding improvisator, he won the first
    prices for organ improvisation in two national competitions
    (1982, 1988).   

    So far he played concerts in the Czech Republic, Germany, Austria, Hungary, the
    Netherlands, Italy, Spain, France, Poland, Romania, Moldova, the U.S.A and Japan.       

    Roubal has recorded a number of CD, he is an author of film music, cooperates with
    Czech Radio, as well as with radio organizations in Germany, Netherlands and Japan,
    in recording music on historical organ instruments.

    In 2007 he played a special concert for the First Lady of the U.S.A. – Madame Laura
    Bush, during the official visit of the President of the U.S.A. to Prague, Czech Republic.
